If a USB error is reported then check the following:
1) Ensure that you have installed and run the latest Easy Phone Tunes application on your phone. You can download the Easy Phone Tunes app from Google Play using your Android device.
2) Try disconnecting your Android device from the Mac or PC and then reconnecting (note that it may take a few seconds for the phone to be detected). If this does not work then disconnect your phone, switch it off then switch it on again and reconnect it.
